'This Is Our Year!' Jazz Chisholm's Explosive World Series Prediction Has Yankees Fans Dreaming Big

Posted Jun 3, 2026

Jazz Chisholm Jr. is never shy to be unabashedly himself, on and off the field. This is what’s endeared him to fans of the New York Yankees, MLB’s most successful franchise. Chisholm is not only one of their most productive players, he’s also arguably their most exciting outside of Aaron Judge, as he plays the game with so much contagious joy and energy.

In 2026, however, Chisholm hasn’t exactly been at his best. He’s currently sporting an OPS of .699, which is a far cry from the kind of production he’s capable of on the plate. Be that as it may, his confidence is never going to waver. In fact, he was brimming with confidence during his appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon — calling his shot that the Yankees are going to go far and win it all.

“I mean, to win the World Series. (We’re gonna do it) for sure,” Chisholm said with a smile on his face.

That, indeed, is the ultimate goal for the Yankees — to win the World Series for the first time since 2009. They have come close on multiple occasions, particularly in 2024. That was when they made it to the Fall Classic and engaged in a competitive series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

But there is so much to go in the 2026 season; the Yankees aren’t even leading the AL East as things stand. They are currently behind the Tampa Bay Rays by virtue of having two more losses (36-23 compared to the Rays’ 36-21).

And then there’s the matter of the MLB postseason being more of a crapshoot than any other in the major North American sports. Anything can happen in baseball come October, and it might not be the best idea to tempt fate by putting proclamations like that out there with 103 games remaining in the season.

Nonetheless, the confidence from Chisholm is admirable; the Yankees do need to walk the talk, however.

Yankees’ Anthony Volpe opens up about clutch heroics vs. Royals
Anthony Volpe came to the rescue with his clutch play in the ninth inning of the New York Yankees’ win over the Kansas City Royals on Monday night. Volpe is going through the fourth season of his career in the majors, standing out as a reliable hitter in the rotation. He has come through in multiple moments throughout his time in the league, pulling off another clutch highlight against Kansas City. New York trailed 3-2 going into the ninth inning, last scoring both of its runs in the second frame. It all came down to Volpe hitting a single to left field, driving two runners to home plate for what ended up being the last scores of the game. Volpe reflected on his clutch hit after the game, per reporter Greg Joyce. The main thing the star shortstop focused on was making the right play to lead his team to victory. “It just felt great to contribute and help the team win – that’s all I’ve ever wanted to do. That was all I wanted to do when I was working and grinding to come back. … You do it for this, for the guys,” Volpe said. How Anthony Volpe, Yankees played against Royals The Yankees greatly needed Anthony Volpe’s clutch highlight, securing the 4-3 win on the road to start their series against the Royals. Will Warren started on the mound as he lasted six innings, striking out three batters while conceding three hits and two runs. Tim Hill earned the win for his second this season while David Bednar obtained his 12th save of the year. New York improved to a 32-22 record on the season, holding the second spot in the AL East Division standings. They are above the Toronto Blue Jays and the Baltimore Orioles while trailing the Tampa Bay Rays. The Yankees will look to secure the series win when they face the Royals in Game 2. The contest takes place on May 26 at 7:40 p.m. ET.
