New York Yankees Eyeing Potential Bullpen Boost From Top Prospect

The New York Yankees are setting the standard in the American League yet again this season. While their lineup is among the most explosive in the MLB, the starting rotation is laying the foundation for their success. On the other hand, the Yankees’ bullpen has been quite disappointing and inconsistent thus far.

As per Joel Sherman of The New York Post, the New York Yankees’ front office is pondering a move to promote pitching prospect Carlos Lagrange from the minor leagues. Lagrange is enjoying a solid spell in Triple-A at the moment. The Yankees’ chairman, Brian Cashman, wants to see how the 6’7″ pitcher fares out of the bullpen in the major leagues.

“Brian Cashman and the Yankees have had ongoing discussions on when to move Carlos Lagrange to the bullpen to see what he could do for the big league club in 2026, according to Joel Sherman,” the Fireside Yankees reported.

Lagrange is ranked as the No. 4 prospect in the Yankees’ farm system by MLB Pipeline, and 76th overall. He moved up from High-A to Double-A last year before starting the 2026 campaign in Triple-A.

Yankees Prospect Delivers Excellent Outing On Thursday

On Thursday, Carlos Lagrange posted his deepest outing for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in the 1-0 loss to the Worcester Red Sox. After starting with a two-out solo home run, the New York Yankees prospect finished with 5.2 innings, allowing just three hits and a walk.

Lagrange touched 99.8 mph on the radar gun with his fastball velocity during his outing. He has a 4.11 ERA over 49.1 innings, but opponents are batting just .219 against him.

New York Yankees Captain Aaron Judge Addresses Engagement Backlash: “I See the Soul, Not the Color”
Bronx, NY — Aaron Judge has become the defining face of the New York Yankees — a franchise superstar whose elite power-hitting ability, leadership, and larger-than-life presence have made him one of the most recognizable players in Major League Baseball. Known for his towering home runs, clutch performances, and ability to deliver under pressure, Judge has spent nearly a decade establishing himself as one of baseball’s premier talents. As captain of the Yankees, he remains the centerpiece of one of MLB’s most iconic franchises. Inside Yankee Stadium, Judge is viewed as more than just a superstar. He is the face of the franchise. The leader of the clubhouse. And the player Yankees fans continue to rally behind as the organization pursues another World Series championship. But this week, the spotlight shifted away from baseball and onto his personal life. Earlier this month, the 34-year-old superstar announced his engagement to his longtime partner in a quiet and emotional social media post. The announcement featured several heartfelt photos from the proposal and quickly spread across social media. Fans initially celebrated the milestone, praising the couple’s journey together and the loyalty they had shown one another throughout Judge’s rise from promising rookie to one of baseball’s biggest stars. Then came the backlash. As the post continued gaining attention, a wave of unsolicited criticism surfaced online, with some users questioning the interracial nature of the relationship. What started as a celebration of love suddenly became a larger cultural conversation. Social media quickly transformed into a battleground of opinions, criticism, and unnecessary judgment. Unlike many athletes who choose to remain silent, Judge decided to address the situation directly. Speaking with reporters at the Yankees’ training facility, the superstar outfielder responded with the same calm confidence he displays during the biggest moments of an MLB season. “I’ve seen the comments. I’ve read everything people have been saying about my life,” Judge said calmly. “But let me be clear — I don’t see color when I look at her. It’s about the heart.” The room reportedly fell silent. Then Judge delivered the statement that immediately exploded across social media. “I see the person who stayed with me when nobody knew who I was. Long before the MLB. Long before the spotlight. Long before any of this became reality.” He continued. “She was there before the awards.” “Before the captaincy.” “Before the records.” “Before anything was guaranteed.” “That’s what matters to me.” “That’s what love is.” “It’s built on loyalty.” Inside the Yankees organization, teammates and coaches reportedly rallied around their captain. Several players privately expressed support, emphasizing that Judge should be allowed to enjoy one of the most important moments of his life without outside interference. Judge made it clear he has no intention of allowing public opinion to influence his future. “For years, she’s been there through every phase of my life,” he explained. “The sacrifices.” “The setbacks.” “The hard work.” “The moments nobody ever saw.” “We’ve built something real together.” “So when people try to turn it into something about race, we don’t respond.” “They weren’t there for the journey.” “They don’t know our story.” Following the press conference, support from “Yankees Universe” flooded social media almost immediately. Thousands of fans praised Judge for standing firm and refusing to let negativity overshadow one of the happiest moments of his life. For a franchise that entrusted him with the captaincy and built its future around his leadership, many supporters viewed Judge’s response as another example of why he remains the most important figure in the organization. He became the first Yankees captain since Derek Jeter and continues to cement his legacy as one of the most dominant sluggers of his generation. Even after battling injuries throughout recent seasons, Judge continues to be viewed as the foundation of New York’s future and one of baseball’s elite leaders. But away from the diamond, he has delivered a message that resonates far beyond baseball. In a world consumed by opinions and endless online noise, Aaron Judge chose something simple. Love. Loyalty. And the courage to stand by both. Not approval. Not controversy. Just truth. And for Aaron Judge, that truth remains unchanged. “I see the person who stayed with me through every challenge, before the fame, before the noise, before any of this.”
